Quarter Century...that sounds old

That's right folks, I'm 25. And thanks to my wonderful husband this view greeted me on the morning of my quarter century birthday.
 Westport, WA

On Friday we left work a little early and drove out to the small coast town of Westport. Josh had made arrangements to stay at a beachfront condo for the night and the condo was really nice. We got there late enough that we dropped our stuff off and went immediately to find some dinner. The only open place we could find was Odysseus Restaurant. It was... interesting. The food was not spectacular but we had a fun time. Josh had a seafood combination with cod, halibut, battered shrimp and some fries. After his first bite of fry he mentioned that they tasted like shrimp. Throughout the meal he mentioned several times that he was unhappy that the fries tasted like shrimp and he kept dipping them in more and more ketchup to try to mask the shrimp taste. I decided to try one and see if it really was shrimpy and my first reaction was that it was but before I finished chewing the first bite I realized that the "ketchup" was actually cocktail sauce :) We had a pretty good laugh about that. And it turns out the fries tasted just fine when they weren't being dipped in cocktail sauce.

Saturday morning we had a quick breakfast and then went out to walk on the beach. It was not warm but at least it wasn't raining. After exploring the beach we went into the town of Westport. It is really small but we enjoyed wandering around the maritime museum, candy shop, and docks. We had some rather delicious chowder and fish 'n chips for lunch which were ridiculously overpriced, but I guess they can charge what they want when most of the other restaurants are closed until they the busy season. After lunch we explored a bit more of the coast and then headed back home.
