All I want for Christmas is a Ball Shoot

Before we get to Christmas, we need to talk about December 21st. To most of the world it is only Christmas eve's, eve's, eve's, eve; but around here, it's Josh's birthday. We had some family over for a nice birthday dinner and some cake.

Happy Birthday, Josh!

After celebrating Josh's birthday, Eli got to have a little pre-Christmas. The Masons brought a present for Eli and he got to open it while they were here.

Superman book!

Christmas morning was pretty exciting. Eli got a ball shoot (basketball hoop) of his very own. Josh and Eli hadn't even made it downstairs before Eli started shouting "ball shoot! ball shoot!". Getting him to open any presents after seeing the basketball hoop was nearly impossible.

Luna got to open her present first because we couldn't get Eli to stop playing long enough to open a present. Notice that he is holding a soccer ball. The basketball was wrapped and it took about 10 minutes of convincing to get him to open it.

Thanks for the fun animals Nana and Papa!

Christmas morning tuckered Luna right out.

Eli also scored some new wheels

He still hasn't figured out how to ride the tricycle but he sure looks good sitting on it

Josh got a shop vac

My bread knife and I. It's a bit large but you never know when you will need to slice a gigantic loaf of bread. When that day comes, I'll be ready.

Christmas day ended with a 9 hour road trip to Idaho. We left late in the afternoon with the hope that Eli would sleep for the last several hours of the drive. What actually happened was that Eli fell asleep as planned but then woke up at around 11:30pm and stayed awake until we arrived at Grandma and Grandpa Mendenhall's house at 1:00am. He wasn't crying, just awake. Silly boy.

We had a great time with my parents and family. We played volleyball, Luna went bird hunting for the first time, we ate some delicious food (lamb, quail, & pheasant), rode the 4-wheeler, helped Grandpa feed the sheep, and had a fun New Year's eve with family.

We had a wonderful Christmas and New Years. Spending time with family and friends was the perfect way to end 2014 and we are looking forward to the adventures that 2015 will hold.
