Josh's Birthday and a Pregnant Belly

This post was going to be about Christmas with brief side notes of Josh's birthday and a picture of my growing belly. Sadly I began that post weeks ago and it now seems like too little too late. So, to sum up, Christmas was wonderful!

Just a few days before Christmas we celebrated The Pants birthday. We went to dinner with Lynn & Angie and Dan & Ashley at Melrose Grill. The company was excellent and the was food delicious. The birthday cheesecake was fantastic too.

Things seem to be going well with the pregnancy/baby. It seems a little unreal that just over 7 weeks from now we will be meeting our little boy. Maybe less than 7 weeks if he decides to make an early appearance. Life in our house is about to change pretty drastically and we are both really excited and a little nervous.

This was taken a week or two ago, so I would have been 30 or 31 weeks.

    Birthdays are wonderful! When they come repeatedly and especially when it's going to be the first one!! Hurray, hurray. Love to all 3 of you :)

Please welcome the newest member of our little family. Elijah Clayton Conley was born at 7:11 am on Saturday March 16th. He weighed in at 8 lbs 4 oz and was 20 inches long. Six months, Baby!

Eli celebrated his half birthday a few weeks ago. He had an exciting day going to the doctor's office and getting another round of vaccines. Ok, maybe exciting is the wrong word. Traumatic or terrible would be more appropriate. At his check he weighed 18 lbs 1.5 oz (65%) and was 26 3/4" tall (95%). It's hard for me to believe how big he is getting. The picture below was taken the day after his half birthday. At the time he would still topple over occasionally while sitting but in the last few weeks he has pretty much figured it out. Josh and I are enjoying his relative immobility. He rolls around but still can't go much further than a few feet. Hopefully we will have a few more weeks before he starts crawling. He isn't showing any signs of imminent crawling but he changes so quickly that it could happen sooner than I think. In other news, I started playing in a volleyball league last week. To Give Sorrow Words

One month ago I found out I was pregnant. This was exciting news for us because getting pregnant is not easy around here. I have PCOS which makes pharmaceutical intervention necessary and it is still not an easy process. With Eli it took only 3 months on medication to get pregnant, but this time around the same medication was not working and after almost a year I was still without child. (Is that a phrase? I doubt it.) So I started taking an additional medication and we were thrilled when it worked the first month. Perhaps by now you have caught on to the fact that I'm using past tense when referring to a pregnancy that, had all gone well, would now be 8 weeks along. But all did not go well. Just over a week ago I had some bleeding after playing volleyball. It was late when it happened so the next morning I called the doctor. They wanted to see me that day for an ultrasound.
