Groundhog Day?

Ok, I know all the posts about hikes are probably getting boring. And I contemplated not posting about this one but I HAVE to because it is the conclusion to a previous post. Earlier we tried to hike into Rainy lake with some friends and we failed. Not only did we fail but I ended up falling into the river. Well, not this time! We found the lake but we found the fish too. It has been quite a while since we have had decent fishing and it was great.

On the way in Josh spotted some interesting vegetation. We couldn't decide if it was a fungus or a flower. Turns out it is a flower called either Ghost Plant or Indian Pipe.

We should have taken a picture of the fish at the lake as they got a little discolored on the trip home. Even though they were discolored they sure did taste delicious : )

    I wish I could say "yum" but in all honesty, I can't! I sure am glad you enjoyed them. The lake is beautiful :)

Please welcome the newest member of our little family. Elijah Clayton Conley was born at 7:11 am on Saturday March 16th. He weighed in at 8 lbs 4 oz and was 20 inches long. Six months, Baby!

Eli celebrated his half birthday a few weeks ago. He had an exciting day going to the doctor's office and getting another round of vaccines. Ok, maybe exciting is the wrong word. Traumatic or terrible would be more appropriate. At his check he weighed 18 lbs 1.5 oz (65%) and was 26 3/4" tall (95%). It's hard for me to believe how big he is getting. The picture below was taken the day after his half birthday. At the time he would still topple over occasionally while sitting but in the last few weeks he has pretty much figured it out. Josh and I are enjoying his relative immobility. He rolls around but still can't go much further than a few feet. Hopefully we will have a few more weeks before he starts crawling. He isn't showing any signs of imminent crawling but he changes so quickly that it could happen sooner than I think. In other news, I started playing in a volleyball league last week. To Give Sorrow Words

One month ago I found out I was pregnant. This was exciting news for us because getting pregnant is not easy around here. I have PCOS which makes pharmaceutical intervention necessary and it is still not an easy process. With Eli it took only 3 months on medication to get pregnant, but this time around the same medication was not working and after almost a year I was still without child. (Is that a phrase? I doubt it.) So I started taking an additional medication and we were thrilled when it worked the first month. Perhaps by now you have caught on to the fact that I'm using past tense when referring to a pregnancy that, had all gone well, would now be 8 weeks along. But all did not go well. Just over a week ago I had some bleeding after playing volleyball. It was late when it happened so the next morning I called the doctor. They wanted to see me that day for an ultrasound.
